Cooking takes time, yes, but YOU control how MUCH time it takes. Your skills and your choices of ingredients and methods are the “shortcuts” to faster cooking.

My first time through the Whole30 was excruciating. It’s all whole foods so I spent hours shopping, prepping and cooking all new recipes. They were foreign to me and frankly, not to my liking always. Nothing is more frustrating than spending 2 or 3 hours in the kitchen only to not like what you cooked!

So, let’s talk about some things you could do to take “shortcuts” with your own recipes…making something you already know you love but FASTER!

Enjoy simple fried eggs in 7 minutes flat!

Morning is not the favorite time of day for most people. We tend to stay up late, and wake up with only enough time to grab a quick shower and some clothes, and head out the door.

But breakfast starts your day right with your body fueled for whatever comes your way…particularly if you need the mental capacity to power through big projects that require a lot of thought. And no, I don’t think sugary carbs qualify as a significant morning meal. Been doing Whole30 type food too long to go for that. And why do that when you can enjoy simple fried eggs in 7 minutes?

True story of a text I got this week: “I offered to cut the peppers at the family reunion because I knew how!” I taught this young friend the fastest way to cut a bell pepper, and she felt confident doing it!
