There’s nothing better on a snowy day than a savory soup packed with beef and veggies. But dealing with a large cut like chuck roast can be a little tricky and time consuming. I look at every recipe from the standpoint of how to make it healthier or faster. Many are fine as they are, but when I see certain red flags or want some “method” options, it’s time for a recipe renovation!

Yes, I look at sales flyers every week to get the best deals. But sometimes, I need things that aren’t on sale. I make a point of checking them in the store anyway just in case there’s a sale that wasn’t in the flyer. There are often markdowns that can result in great surprise grocery savings!

Ever considered this question? A blueprint includes measurements and exact angles and such which must be followed or the building you working on won’t be safe. A template is something to get you going, but you can scale it differently to have a different size or change the flavors. So, which is it…is a recipe blueprint or a template?

Store extra mushrooms for later

Somehow, I always have mushrooms left over. Almost every recipe I use calls for 4 ounces…half the standard 8-ounce package. I have the best intentions of using the second half of the mushrooms the next morning in an omelette or something but always seem to forget until they’re nasty. I definitely needed a way to store extra mushrooms for later.
