No trip to Orlando is complete without a visit to the one Disney you don’t have to pay to enter…Disney Springs. It’s website bills it as an outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment complex, but with over 60 eateries to choose from, I think DINING should be listed first. Here’s our food adventures at Disney Springs Thanksgiving of last year to inspire your trip this year!
My two favorite stores here are the giant Disney store and the Lego store, but honestly, I request to go there simply for the food. Others can shop…I wanna eat! And the places we went this year were certainly not short on tasty options to try.
First stop – The Polite Pig
I love BBQ as much as the next person (though I’m partial to beef being from TX), but this list of sides had my mouth watering. So glad they had the option of just getting 3 sides!
I’d had the sweet potato tots before (and I knew my husband would get those and I could steal one!), so I went for some different options.
My favorite was the brussels sprouts, so crispy and flavorful, but the others were tasty in their own right. The roasted beets probably were the most surprising because I felt like, you know, beets – they’re just dressing up something that tastes a lot like dirt in some cases. Well, the dressing up really worked! No dirt taste here!
Just so you know, if I had gotten the BBQ, I would have loved to try their sauce selection!
Second stop – Salt & Straw Ice Cream
Okay, you know I’m not into a whole lot of sweets generally. But ice cream? I love it! Salt & Straw was a name I didn’t know, but they are definitely in the game of testing the boundaries of what should be ice cream flavors. Check out this list of options in the Thanksgiving flavors? We tried them all, and surprisingly, none were just downright disgusting. I think the Parker House Rolls ended up being the favorite.
I tried Thanksgiving and classic flavors, but everything seemed too sweet for me. I finally settled on the Panther Coffee Chocolate Tres Leches…least sweet of the bunch. Fit perfectly with what I had in mind…a sweet that wasn’t too much, that had a little bite of coffee flavor as well. Fabulous!
Too many choices for food adventures!
I could stay a month and maybe not cover all the food offered here…so much in one place. Definitely a place you wanna check out while you’re in Orlando. Better look at their dining page before you go so you can plan ahead. Which eatery will you choose first? Or maybe you’ve already been and have a favorite I should try? Lemme know in the comments below.
